Watson Boyle manuscript Circa 1905

Watson Boyle's sixteen-page manuscript titled “Holding a Railroad for Ransom” recounts the story that Boyle described as a “sensational series of crimes in Montana in 1903" when the Northern Pacific Railway Company was threatened with serious property destruction if it did not meet ransom terms.
